Casa Jacobo: A great Villa, in Lovely Sayulita

Casa Jacobo Villa RentalWe had a very pleasant time here at Casa Jacobo. The owners of the villa, 'Z' and his wife Terrie, are charming hosts and they introduced us to some very interesting Mexican friends of theirs.

We stayed in CASA PINA. It has everything we wanted : pool, internet, close to town center, housekeeping, 2 beds (main floor plus loft), fully equipped kitchen, huge shaded outside patio with sofas for 2 with valley breeze wafting through, good view of the town, few steps, pool, air conditioning, DVD, and a Vonage phone to call back home if needed.

It's an easy walk to the town square. We had most of our dinners out and again Z came up with numerous recommendations.

There are lots of places to buy food if you wish to stay in or as we did have breakfast and lunch on the patio.

We went to a baptism and then a family festival in the little village of San Ignacio with Z and Terrie. It was fun to be included in such an event, and the food and music were great.

This trip was different for us in that we actually got involved in the local culture; the people were wonderful. It has always been our experience in Mexico that the Mexicans are very friendly and go out of there way to help you.

Z sent us over to the Tropical House Bistro on the north side of town, where we met Michel Font, one of the owner/Chef's of the establishment. He cooked up some fabulous dishes for us and I can honestly say I had the best Quesedillas ever at their restaurant. See them on Facebook.

Weather was great, around 85-90 most of the time. The ocean is like a bath, and the pool at Casa Jacobo was very enticing too.

The bananas, mangos, guava and papaya were ripening on the trees, and all the fruit and produce is absolutely delicious.

If you ever want an inexpensive and wonderful holiday, this is the place.

There are four separate Villas, the penthouse VILLA MANGO has a palapa covered terrace. With 2 bedrooms and baths and full kitchen, living and dining area this would be ideal for a family or two couples who want to share a place. It is at the top and has wonderful views over the town and a glimpse of the ocean.

VILLA PAPAYA has 1 bedroom and 1 1/4 baths. The living room has a built in couch which can sleep two. It also has a large terrace with great views.

Our choice was one of the two smaller villas that are close to the pool. They are VILLA PINA and VILLA COCO. Villa Pina suited us perfectly. I think it is probably the nicest and most convienient place we have ever stayed in Mexico and there have been many over the years. Certainly a large part of that was due to Z and Terrie and their ability to make one feel like they are a very welcomed guest.

We can't recommend Casa Jacobo enough we will certainly be going back as soon as we can, but also to remind you that you need to book early for the high season as we are not the only one's who think Casa Jacobo is THE place to stay! Contact these folks here.

Cheers, Ade & Jen
